Relaxation Massage
$70 Professional - per session
$25 Student - per session

Relaxation massage is the style that comes to mind when most people think about massage and is the most common and
best-known form of bodywork performed today.

The aim is relaxing the entire body and this is accomplished by massaging the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Additional techniques include circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching. Oil or balms are used to reduce friction and stimulate the skin.

Relaxation Massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility whilst easing stress and tension.

Trigger Point Therapy
$70 Professional Only - per session

A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. A trigger point in the back, for example, may cause pain in the muscles of the neck. The muscles of the neck, now acting as satellite trigger points, may then cause pain in the head. The pain may be sharp and intense or a dull ache. Trigger points are caused by muscle overuse or injury, and because the aches are associated with moving parts, the pain is commonly mistaken for arthritis.

Trigger point massage is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.

The result of trigger point therapy is the elimination of toxins in the muscles and the release of energising endorphins. A significant decrease in pain is often found after just one treatment.

Craniosacral Therapy
$70 Professional Only - per session

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that deals with the movement of the Cerebral spinal fluid surrounding the skull and spine. Craniosacral therapists ease the restrictions on nerve passages by focusing on the membranes and tissue that encase the central nervous system and spinal cord.

Craniosacral therapy seeks to restore misaligned cranial bones to their proper position. It is thought to eliminate the negative effects of birth trauma, as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.

This advanced therapy has been featured on ABC television and is widely gaining fame for helping with many neurological conditions.

Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient healing art developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago, using the fingers to press key acu-points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force energy to aid healing.

Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points and energy meridians pathways, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses gentle but firm pressure. Acupressure is useful for relieving pain, balancing the bodies energy system, and for treating many common ailments. Acupressure's healing touch reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving stress, acupressure therapy strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.
